You can rest assured that when you’re in her presence you will be in a nonjudgmental dental environment!
Dr. Okonmah graduated from the University of Benin School of Dentistry in 1991 (where she practiced for some years). A dual degree dentist, Dr. Okonmah is also a 2003 graduate of New York University College of Dentistry. She completed a year of postgraduate general practice dentistry training at the Oral Medicine Department of the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, New Jersey where she concentrated on providing dental care to medically complex patients. Dr. Okonmah is also an advocate for creating access to dental care for everyone! From 2004-2009, she spent years in Eastern North Carolina supporting public and community health. While there, she worked with others to obtain initial field data for a pilot program, Into the Mouth of Babes, which aimed to find every child a dental home. She also furthered her passion by researching Access to Dental Care for Migrant Farm Workers in Eastern North Carolina. Dedicated to giving back to the underserved, she continues to volunteer her dental services in the Community Care Clinic of Rowan County and with the NC Missions of Mercy Clinics.
In her free time, Dr. Okonmah loves to spend time with her family, attend church activities, and complete home improvement/organization tasks.
